Each Sphere of magic resonates with certain themes and trends. These resonances are ways to understand how magic can perform under the influence of a sphere and the way it works. While you may be able to make magic heal using Fire magic or Water magic the way they achieve these things has some differences and this can affect things like Weaving that tries to draw upon power in custom ways.

These will be expanded on over time and should be viewed as the initial set of Sphere Resonances. The weaving team will continue to work with people to help craft weavings that can work. These resonances below are to help guide what the spheres may be good at and help inform roleplay when discussing the spheres or performing feats of magic instead of definitive magical limits and categories.

== Air ==

Feel it in your lungs, ruffling through your hair, hear the voices of the vast, the thundering declarations of defiance, the whispered promises of the lost and the beckoning horizon calling to be explored to all brave enough to heed its call. Air jolts with the electric rush of opportunity, it is what pushes air weavers above and beyond that which is known. For as vast as the sky appears, there must be unexplored pathways and ideas that vast too. Feel it carry you to new horizons, feel it crush and discombobulate your enemies when the power of air concentrates following an air weaver’s call – to protect, to unmake and isolate from anything unwished for, trapped in the eye of a storm.

Weavings of air are at their most striking for matters of: communication, travel, magical suppression and neverending curiosity.

== Earth ==

Steady, unwavering, carrying the weight of the world – those who know of earth weaving know that strength and life permeate from the smallest seed to the tallest mountain. How could one thing be separate from another when all share in the strength given by the earth? Earth weavers know how to stand their ground, how to shift the way, to trust in small beginnings and how to nurture them into grand victories. Life is everywhere and follows death and destruction as surely as the moon follows the sun.

Earth weaving is at its most profound for matters of: growth, resilience, the connections between living things and unwavering trust.

== Fire ==

The magic of fire is constantly inconstant, what burns is reborn, what is created is burned. Flame is power, flame is might, flame is home and warmth and strive. Weavers can call upon the realm of fire to call forth destruction, both physically to tear down what is in their way, and metaphysically by using flames to cleanse what has been tainted not simply consume. New beginnings lie in the ashes of what once was and fire weavers know that this circle of existence lies at the heart of their magic.

Fire weaving is most potent for matters of: destruction, rebirth, cleansing, strive and passion.

== Water ==

Water is the life blood of the earth, falling from the sky, emerging from the earth, vital to every living thing. To know water is to know the ways of the world, the ebb and flow of history and oneself. To know water is to know life, and weavers calling upon this element are masters at preserving and reinvigorating it. If cut or blow, if blood or poison, they know when a churning wave needs to break through opposition and when to adapt to the smallest of pathways to get what they desire. The steady drop hollows even stone and in that tenacity, patience and underlying power lies the might of water from drop to sea.

Water weaving is at its most impactful for matters of: healing, adaptability, purification and fierce compassion.

== Athria ==

A heartbeat, a breath, a touch, a word spoken, a vow to be broken, a promise to forget, a life lived and forfeit. The sphere of Athria is the absence, the dark reflection of all which makes life and makes someone who they are. All which fades, all which is swallowed by time will echo through the sphere of Athria, never lost, never fully gone, never allowed to grow beyond what it once was. It is preservation of things long gone, of everything left behind. Weavers of Athria know the value of long-learned lessons, the wisdom of times past, the power resting in pure twisting memory and ancient legacy. With the echoes of what once was at their fingertips, summoned into empty husk, they wield past potential for one final dance.

The sphere of Athria is at its most lively for matters of: memory, undeath, transformation and unyielding reverence.

== Fable ==

Let’s set the scene: fireshine and sparks are crackling, shadows dancing at the edge of a tree-hugged glade. A voice rings out, low and full of wonder and promises and as the light catches in your eyes, and your breath halts in your lungs – what else can there be than the power of stories? Stories which unite, stories to connect us all, stories to show the way through darkness and peril. Stories to show the hope in the darkest hours. Weavers of Fable know the ritual of narration, the structure it gives to hope and wanting. They know how to intertwine and twist and weave and line up exactly what needs to be heard and done for a desired outcome to arrive – the question is just which role to play? The cunning? The schemer? The rogue in the night, the knight in armour, the overlooked yet here to save the day? Tricks and tropes may break some bones, but words can cut so deep – and all the stories are at the tip of the tongue with the magic of fable.

The sphere of Fable is at its most grandiose in matters of: creativity, storytelling, dramatics, the one step to the left and boundless wonder.

== Forge ==

Ideas never cease and creation never falters in pressing forwards. The decisive clanking of a hammer, the high-pitched tink of a chisel, the rhythmic strokes of a brush, they all are as unending and everflowing as creation itself and they are the gears turning within the magic of the forge sphere. Logic, innovation, progress and exploration of the impossible made tangible are the mechanical heart beating in every dream come true through matters of craft. Forge weavers know that there is always a way to build, adapt, expand and create their newest yearning, that the next stroke of genius is only waiting after one more line, one more part, one more blueprint. There is no problem which cannot be solved and the beauty of every creation, of every piece of imagination brought into this world to be shared and celebrated is their greatest joy.

Forge magic is at its most efficient for matters of: creation, optimisation, logical deduction and eternal dedication.

== Oracle ==

An eye unblinking, a fate unmoving, a future ever-changing, a dream lurking, a record of the future, past and present – the Oracle sphere is as enigmatic as one’s most elusive dream. Impossible to catch, impossible to hold – but impressions can be taken, manipulated and projected. Weavers of Oracle live in interpretation, in delays and visions of things long past, long overdue and all around them. The desire for knowledge, to gleam and learn, many argue, is what leads a person down the path of infinite possibility and finite sanity.

Oracle weavings are at their most certain in matters of: divination, foresight, illusion and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
