Proposed for construction at the heart of Hammerstadt, the Freistadt is envisioned not as a hall but as a colossal citadel of politics, a structure built to dominate the city’s skyline and cement its Syndicates’ power. Its foundations would sprawl underground across the city, its outer walls bristling with towers, arches, and facades engraved with Syndicate triumphs. Inside, space would unfold on a scale bordering on the absurd. Soaring vaults where banners hang higher than guildhalls, galleries broad enough for Coteries to march through, and chambers so vast their echoes would roll like thunder. Every Syndicate would leave its mark upon the Freistadt, producing a building that is part fortress, part cathedral, part marketplace and entirely theatre.

At its heart would lie the Grand Forum, a chamber so immense it could hold every Syndicate and Coterie banner with room enough for the city’s Charter to hang above them all. Tiered balconies would rise like a coliseum, giving thousands a place to stand, shout, and witness. The debating floor would be no ordinary stage, but one shaped by invention and sorcery. Floating platforms would drift across the chamber, carrying orators high above the crowd. Podiums would rise from hidden gears at a Syndicate’s signal. Arcane lanterns would flare to spotlight speakers, spell-wrought amplifiers would carry every word through the Forum, and illusions of charts, maps, and records would flicker into being at command. To stand in this chamber would be to feel Hammerstadt itself. Noisy, unrelenting, immense, and impossible to ignore.

Behind this spectacle, the '''private chambers of the Syndicates''' would provide the real heart of the Freistadt’s dealings. Each Syndicate hall would be styled in its craft , some gaudy, some austere, some bristling with steel, others cloaked in velvet. These would serve as labyrinths of negotiation, council, and deal-making, each connected by hidden stairs and tunnels to the Forum so Burghers may appear or vanish at will.

To one side, the '''Promissory '''would be raised, a hall gilded in steel and lined with ledgers where lobbyists, wealthy patrons, and foreign envoys ply their trade. Deals would be struck in whispers or openly at carved tables, with coin and signature carrying equal weight. Officially a chamber of petition, in truth the Promissory would become the artery through which much of Hammerstadt’s politics and coin would flow.

Opposite it would stand the '''Hall of Deeds''', a vaulted gallery where Syndicates and Coteries alike would carve their triumphs into civic memory. Murals of contracts fulfilled, relics of monsters slain, triumphant victories, and trophies of conquest would line its walls. Each day, new deeds would be etched, pushing the old further into shadow, ensuring Hammerstadt’s glory was always present, always renewed.

Beneath the Forum would spread the '''Hall of Records''', a mine of bureaucracy deeper than most forges. Its shelves would groan with decrees, contracts, and charters, maintained by an army of clerks aided by invention and spellcraft. Self-writing quills would scratch endlessly at parchment, crank-driven presses would churn out duplicates, and wards would preserve against mold, fire, and tampering. Without these contraptions, clerks joke, it would take a generation to keep pace with the city’s shouting.

Encircling it all would be the '''Outer Courtyard''', a plaza of marble and iron large enough to host a small army. Protesters, chanters, revellers, and mobs too numerous for the Forum would fill its space daily. Statues and fountains would attempt dignity, but more often it would serve as an arena of shouting and fists. Pamphlets would be handed out freely, and street performers would declaim the agenda before the crowds poured into the Freistadt itself.

The Freistadt, once raised, would be more than a building. It would be both a theatre of power and a hall of politics. To some, it would stand as a monument to unity. To others, a fortress of Syndicate control. But all would agree the Freistadt would be Hammerstadt itself.
