The Pact of the Nine is a magically bound contract agreed by all the nations. Its is enforced by powerful weavings of magic and empowered by the Gods. Those who agreed to the terms of the Pact are magically compelled towards not breaking them.

==== We, the undersigned do pledge on behalf of, and with the authority of, our nations and the representatives of the guilds to act for the survival of our people. As the days grow darker and the light of hope fades we come together for this, our last hope. With the aid of the gods and each other we can overcome the blight that has all but destroyed our way of life. ====

==== The pact has been the only means of our continued survival. Since the enemy has come, only by standing together have we lasted this long. Some have called for each of our nations’ last stands to be made individually but this we all agree would be only to accelerate our defeat. ====

==== As our predecessors did before, we agree to the following tenets, to be enforced by us and upon us by our peers. ====

== Opportunity for All ==

==== All will be given the opportunity to thrive, for only in growth can they aid our cause. None shall prevent those with reasonable interest their chance to contribute. ====

== Not for Conquest ==

==== No land nor resource shall be taken in the name of conquest, any and all land recovered shall be returned to the nation that held it before. We fight not for petty self interest but for the future. ====

== For Justice and Fairness ==

==== Disputes will be settled through legal means. No person shall be above the laws we uphold. Neither the Law nor any other persons shall degrade another through the use of harm of any kind to extract knowledge. ====

== Unity is Strength ==

==== No nation or realm shall turn upon another, for fighting ourselves will only lead to our destruction. We must stand together, for divided we will fall. We shall guard against all dangers whether from within or beyond. We stand as shields for one another. ====

== The Guilds ==

==== We ask and empower the Guilds to aid us and our people in pursuing any goal that may aid us. We ask these chosen by the gods to go forth and seek adventure, riches and justice. ====

== Prosperity with Integrity ==

==== We give our whole economic strength to The Banking Guild so that experts may guide us in where we can spend what little we have. No others shall make currency in our names nor shall any accept false coin. ====

== Strength through Resolve ==

==== Each nation, guild, and individual must strive to achieve on their own skill, preparing for hardships rather than relying on the charity of others. Aid may be freely given, but it is not owed nor can it be compelled. ====

== Preservation of Knowledge ==

==== We shall protect our wisdom, teach and protect our young, and record our deeds, so that any future generations may learn from us. ====

== Respect for the Divine ==

==== We honour the gods as the forces that shape our world, neither seeking to defy them nor falling into reckless folly of false gods. ====

== Commitment of Solidarity ==

==== We stand as one. To betray this pact is to sever oneself from the nations and the Gods. We will see them punished by the Law and in betrayal of the pact be put to just punishment. ====

==== We hope that through this declaration we will find the light which will guide us to a future. We commit all forces and aid to this pact and request and require all who follow us to be bound by it. ====

==== We make this declaration witnessed by the gods. We make this new affirmation of our agreement with the enemy at the gate. We know we will not see its promise come to pass, so we ask and hope the next of our people chosen by fate to not let us pass our last hours in vain. ====

== May we save ourselves as no one else will. ==
