Whilst people are used to living alongside the stranger creatures of Valdraeth, they also particularly enjoy adorning themselves around the shoulders, neck and head in the name of fashion and status, be it with high standing collars, elaborate shoulder armour, mantles, headwear, or intricate jewellery pieces, to look both memorable and powerful.<br />

Valdraeth is a land of contradiction and depth. The people understand practicality at their core, doing whatever needs to be done, no matter how distasteful. They forge bonds of trust through oaths and contracts, knowing that breaking them brings severe consequences. Names carry immense weight, earned through deeds and experiences, and can win respect or cause ostracism. Ambition is expected, as everyone strives to achieve their full potential, turning setbacks into richer stories. Beauty is seen in how well one wears their experiences, and magic is woven deeply into everyday life, regarded with healthy wariness. After the loss of the lands, many a noble head and house slinked away from the steadily receding battlefront, all those of note gathered at the one remaining castle, the last place of any import. Here those of high born names and those without, scheme and plot with intricate games of pageantry and subterfuge to try to retain some of their former status. Meanwhile the stalwart forces put their lives upon the line, fighting along the border to preserve their home and become legend. Its other citizens, be they witches, waymakers, leeches, or lorekeepers, remain in the low lands and thick forests of Valdraeth.

In Valdraeth, you will find a land of spectacle and trepidation where many seek their fortune, but not all claim their prize or are prepared for the consequences. If you seek deep social roleplay, daring adventure, and a chance to shape your own legend Valdraeth is your home. Revelry and celebration are prized, with gatherings led by bards and feasts marking important events. Religion is intertwined with daily life, honouring gods of story, performance, celebration, harvest, journeys, wilderness, and the unknown.

Grimdark: This is not a land of constant horror. While shadows exist, true dread is rare. People live well, leveraging the unique flora, fauna, and magic of the land.Evil or Pantomime Villains: Valdraeth is a nation of diverse people working together. Villainous characters can exist, but they should not antagonise other players. Light, consensual conflict is welcome, but tearing down others’ enjoyment is not.

Valdraeth is a land inspired by dark fairytales and its people reflect this. High-Medieval clothing, Pre-Raphaelite art and folklore-inspired costuming come together to create a look of dark, deep, jewel tones, full of drama: Evil Lords, Warrior Princesses, Viziers and Sorcerers, complicated heroes and heroines who are not always the good guys.<br />
