Marching forth to the beating of great drums and the droning chants of preachers, those under the thrall of the Void are the great masses: the desperate, the downtrodden, those with nowhere else to turn. Abandoned by their leaders, their wise ones, and even their very gods, their only succour comes from taking revenge on all those who have wronged not just them, but the great mass of humanity. As they march, they chant the songs of the end, and of the Doom of all things. The ground under their feet is ravaged by their passing, crops and herbs pulled up root and stem, villages and hamlets looted and torched, the earth salted under their tread.

Ability:

  • Instantly cast the Rend rite if hit by Fire damage
  • “Please I Don’t Want To Die" Give the players good roleplay to make them feel sorry for the firebrand if there is time in the encounter. When away from void forces for too long their fire inside of them will get hotter and hotter until eventually they scream and burn from the inside. Mass Fire Smite (only do this in Haven)
This does not happen when they die, only if they have been away from the void for a long time.
Wizards who specialised in fire magic, now made to turn their powers towards burning books, buildings and flesh.

When the hordes of the Void come upon a new settlement to bring into the arms of Oblivion, it is the Despoilers who are personally commanded to make examples of the leaders of the peoples of Elandra. Particularly callous and bloodthirsty individuals, they drag the priests, wizards and majors out of their homes and slit their throats in front of their congregations, all the better to show that Oblivion comes for all, no matter their social status. Many have rather joined the great dirge of the Void rather than risk becoming another corpse at the end of a Despoiler’s knife

Attributes and Behaviour They are the ones who make examples of those that fight against the end and break the will of those around them. You are the embodiment of the end of the void and want to fulfil that role. Every step is purposeful, waste no motion, there’s no hesitation or flourish.

Tactics:

You stay as a Cadre of 2 - 3 Despoilers. If without a firebrand, They are behind the line of void and will dispatch any that the mass has moved over. If with a firebrand will move with them directing them to points in the inline to let them lose
EXECUTE SQUAD: Execute squad. ALWAYS give players chances to recover their friends. ALWAYS make it a big damn moment if you ever do execute anyone. ALWAYS check in with the player to make sure they are okay with it. Small groups of 2-3 MAX, stick together, do great RP.

While the path of the flagellant draws great masses of the lost and damned to the Void’s banners, some flagellants seek an even quicker route to Oblivion. These individuals are known as the Scorned, abandoned by their Gods and desiring the quickest route to revenge against the Gods’ servants. Donning themselves with powerful charms and unstable magics, they charge headlong into the foe before calling on The Void, granting themselves sweet Oblivion.

Attributes and Behaviour: Their expressions are ones of cold fury, not wild madness; they remember everything. The betrayal. The pain. The lies.

Grabbing the largest weapon they can, they hide amongst their flagellant brethren before plunging headfirst into the enemy’s ranks, cackling wildly the whole way.

Attributes and Behaviour: Chosen or self-selected for their mad devotion and suicidal fervour. They embrace death as victory, seeing their own destruction as a sacred offering. They do not seek glory only annihilation, for themselves and others.

Tactics: Is not tactical, it’s a reckless, self-sacrificing sprint straight into the densest cluster of foes. Charge forwards ahead of the main flagellant block, absolutely zero self preservation. If you live for more than 5 seconds you are doing it wrong

Once Holy Leaders of the Old World, who the Void showed the cruelty of what is to fall upon them and their flock for their faith in the Gods! Once great heroes and leaders of the free peoples whose Hope was crushed beyond salvation and abandoned by their so-called “Gods”, the Unspoken have been entirely consumed by the essence of the Void. Retaining all the skill at arms and fury that they had in their previous lives, they are turned entirely to the bringing about of the End of All things, and are remade in the Void’s image. Weapons clang uselessly off their armour, vigour sapped from those they fight even as their weapons make contact, bringing the realisation that there can be no escape from the march of Oblivion. They no longer sleep, eat, or feel the same wants as their charges. Instead they are entirely hollow, empty in both Body and Soul. When finally put down, little remains of them but dust, and coils of purple smoke. Energised directly by their Faith in the Eternal End, they command their legions forwards, announcing the dirge that will bring about the Void.

Attributes and Behaviour: Once-mortal heroes or leaders who succumbed to despair and were forsaken by divine beings. Not mindless act with chilling conviction and spiritual fervour for Oblivion. Do not run or hurry. Instead, walk with grim, relentless purpose, as if knowing nothing can stand in their way

Tactics: Retain all former combat skills, Sending those off to the end is your Goal
