The valley of Morvalis lies ever under the breath of the Athrian fog, a thick, soul-sapping shroud in which travellers lose not only their way, but their very will to live. Within its grip stalk silent horrors, and without guidance, many simply vanish. It is in this place of slow death and unseen danger that we propose a sanctuary: The Beacon of the Reaper’s Embrace.

This beacon is envisioned as a solemn but powerful structure, a house of mercy, standing watch over the most treacherous crossroads of the Charnel Road. Built from dark-carved stone and timber, its heart is a tall steeple housing a fog-piercing beacon lit in the name of The Reaper. From this beam, light shall stretch outward, cutting through the fog and granting refuge to those who walk the haunted paths of Morvalis.

The structure will serve both as a spiritual site and a physical sanctuary. Within its main chamber, shrines and carved images will honour The Reaper’s aspects. A smaller outbuilding will act as a resting place for those who pass, offering shelter, warmth, and a chance to recover in safety. These buildings, simple but enduring, will hold back the fog and the monsters that dwell within it, giving travellers a reason to hope.

Though it cannot cleanse the valley of its shadow, this beacon offers a path to something greater: survival.
