While our policies cover various requirements and guidance for how we expect people to behave at Menhirs Fate we aim to use the wiki to provide further context as the game evolves and new circumstances arise that people may not realise relate to these policies.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Any participant may be a victim of this regardless of gender or sexuality. This may be verbal, physical or digital harassment. Consent is critical and enthusatic consent with a clear yes instead of simply an absence of a no is a good way to confirm that another participant is happy with what is occuring. If you hit on someone after they have shown they are not interested or if sexual comments/jokes are making other people uncomfortable and you do not stop when asked it will be treated as sexual harassment.

Should you wish to portray any participant (player or crew) of Menhirs Fate or their character in any art or writing that you publish in any capacity you must obtain their consent. Sexualising people without their consent is sexual harassment.

Unacceptable behaviours include (and are not limited to):

  • Making sexual jokes, comments, or innuendos that make others uncomfortable
  • Uninvited physical contact, such as touching or grabbing, with a sexual undertone
  • Intruding on someone’s personal space in an unwelcome or persistent manner
  • Persistently asking someone to interact out-of-character after they have declined
  • Using roleplay as an excuse for behaviour that would be inappropriate in any other context

Sexual activity and performance

The important thing to remember with all performance of this nature is that it must be Opt In not Opt Out.

Nudity and sexual touching in public places are not allowed at Menhirs Fate. Certain performances and activities may be permitted where the focus may be sexual in nature but does not involve nudity or sexual touching. Any such performances or activities must be opt in for the wider playerbase. For instance if you wished to do a Burlesque performance that featured neither nudity nor sexual touching you would be allowed, provided that it was not visible to anyone outside the camp or tent and any noise was kept to a reasonable level.

This includes IC smut or erotica and any clubs that may discuss this. Promotion must be discreet and any discussion or events related to it should be kept to a reasonable noise level so that people can opt in rather than needing to opt out.

Any and all sexual activity requires informed consent from any participants. People must be able to actively, clearly consent and cannot while drunk, intoxicated, asleep or passed out. Silence is not consent and consent does not carry over. A person must be able to consent clearly by these consent rules here every time.

The FRIES model of consent is the standard we will be using. This applies to both actual sexual activity and roleplayed sexual activity.

Consent is easy as FRIES:

  • Freely given. Consenting is a choice you make without pressure, manipulation, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Reversible. Anyone can change their mind about what they feel like doing, anytime. Even if you’ve done it before, and even if you’re both naked in bed.
  • Informed. You can only consent to something if you have the full story. For example, if someone says they’ll use a condom and then they don’t, there isn’t full consent.
  • Enthusiastic. When it comes to sex, you should only do stuff you WANT to do, not things that you feel you’re expected to do.
  • Specific. Saying yes to one thing (like going to the bedroom to make out) doesn’t mean you’ve said yes to others (like having sex).
