Menhirs Fate Wiki:Interactive Map
More actions
The Interactive Map & Timeline of Elandra is built entirely from this wiki. This page is the index of every page, category, and template that feeds it — what each does, who edits it, and how. If you maintain the map, start here.
How it works (30 seconds)
The wiki is the single source of truth. A sync job reads the pages below, turns them into data, and the map renders it. You edit the wiki; the map updates on the next sync (and a page reload). You never edit the map's data files directly.
Two ways to edit:
- In the map's Edit mode (recommended for geometry, corruption, Ages, and dragging build/event markers) — open the map, toggle Edit, and save back to the wiki in place. Crew sign-in required.
- On the wiki (for build/event content + the registry tables) — edit the pages below directly.
1. Content you author
The day-to-day. New builds and events start as private Crew: drafts and reach the public map once an editor publishes them (moves them to the public namespace / category).
| What | Published | Drafts | Template | How to add |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Funded Builds | Category:Funded Build | Crew:Partially Funded Builds/… |
Template:BuildPage | Map → Settings → Crew → New Build, or create a page using the template. |
| World Events | Category:World Event | Category:Crew World Events (Crew:WorldEvents/…) |
Template:Tl | Map → Edit → + World Event at this point, or create a page using the template. |
Full field reference + examples: see the authoring guide below.
2. Registries (the lists)
Each is a wikitable on a Crew: page (so the public can't alter what the map depends on). Edit the table to rename, recolour, retire, or add an option. The sync reads them on its next run; the map falls back to built-in defaults if a page is missing.
| Registry | Sets the list of… | Columns |
|---|---|---|
| Crew:Build Types | build types (marker colour + glyph) | Slug ǁ Display name ǁ Colour ǁ Glyph ǁ Notes |
| Crew:World Event Types | world-event types (timeline icon) | Slug ǁ Display name ǁ Icon ǁ Notes |
| Crew:Build Statuses | build lifecycle statuses (funded → destroyed) | Slug ǁ Display name ǁ Terminal ǁ Colour ǁ Notes |
3. Map data (machine-managed)
These hold JSON the map reads — also in Crew: so they're protected. Prefer editing them through the map's Edit mode — it writes valid data back automatically. Hand-editing is possible but easy to break.
| Page | Holds | Best edited via |
|---|---|---|
| Crew:Map Geometry | nation/realm polygons, colours, lifecycles, map textures | Map → Edit → drag vertices / pick colours |
| Crew:Revealed Areas | the Corruption fog snapshots (year-stamped) | Map → Edit → corruption snapshots |
| Crew:Ages | the five History-mode Age bands | Map → Edit → Ages |
4. Templates
- Template:BuildPage — a Funded Build.
- Template:Tl — a World Event.
- Template:Tl / Template:Tl — a nation / realm article (links the polygon to its wiki page).
Authoring guide
The complete field-by-field reference (date format, slugs, build status timelines, the draft → publish lifecycle) lives in the project's authoring guide. Keep it next to this page, or mirror its contents here.
Conventions
- Dates are
year.chunk(~4 chunks/year). In-world year is 1026; the LARP began 1025. - Slugs (type/status ids) are lowercase letters/digits (statuses also allow underscore). Unknown values fall back to a sensible default.
Crew:namespace = private draft. It only reaches the public map once published.- Build statuses are a timeline — a build can be marked deteriorating/destroyed at a year, and the map shows its whole lifespan.
