Clinging to the rugged, warmed slopes of Embermount within the sacred region known as Pheonix Rest, will stand The Nest, an old-style stone tavern shaped by both resilience and reverence for the volcanic land it inhabits. Unlike destinations that mark an end, The Nest is positioned along a winding, ascending trail that leads toward the volcano’s peak. It does not claim to be a final stop, but rather a place of pause, a welcome reprieve for adventurers, pilgrims, and wanderers making their way through the mountain’s shifting paths.

Constructed primarily of stone, the tavern is built to withstand the harsh temperament of its environment, drawing upon the heat of Embermount itself. Within its walls lies a natural hot spring, carefully integrated into the structure, offering rest, recovery, and quiet revitalisation to those who pass through. It serves as both comfort and reward for those who endure the climb.

The central chimney will be designed specifically to be a resting place for phoenix, as though the structure itself has become a cradle for fire reborn. This addition does not alter the taverns function, but deepens its meaning by linking the tavern to the mythic cycles of flame, renewal, and endurance associated with the mountain. A large south-facing stained glass window will dominate one wall of the tavern, depicting a phoenix in vivid colour and light.
