At its centre burns the great hearth from which the hall takes its name. The ever-burning fire fills the chamber with warmth, drawing Hewers together at the end of each day's labour. Around its glow, stories are shared, advice is offered, grievances are aired, and friendships are strengthened. It is here that discussions concerning the future of the Hewers take place, and where representatives may be chosen to speak on their behalf when the need arises.

In the deep stone heart of Syradonia, where the pick’s rhythm and the hammer’s song echo through the caverns, a new vision has been set forth—a gathering place for the Hewers to warm their hands, rest their bones, and unite in fellowship. The Working Hewers Club will be more than a simple hall; it will be a sanctuary where comrades share stories, air grievances, and plot their course towards better days. Within its walls, strategies may be forged to improve their lot, and, when the time calls, a representative can be chosen to carry their cause to Haven itself.
Along one side of the hall, a modest kitchen keeps fresh coffee brewing, ale flowing, and trays of biscuits ready for those returning from the mines. Nearby washing facilities provide a welcome chance to clean away the dust of the tunnels before gathering with companions, while a dedicated office serves as the administrative heart of the club, maintaining records and providing a space to organise the affairs of the Hewers.

The proposed structure is a squat, sturdy building of stone, hewn directly from its own foundation as though born from the rock. A single story in height yet long in form, its most striking feature will be the great hearth that runs through its centre—a glowing, ever-burning core around which the Hewers may gather. Golden grout, shimmering in the torchlight, will seal the stonework, giving the hall a quiet splendour that honours both the labour and the pride of its builders.

Foaming mugs of ale, steaming coffee, and trays of biscuits will always be at hand, served from a modest kitchen tucked into one side of the hall. Showers will provide comfort after a long day’s toil, while a small office will serve as a place to organise union matters and keep records. Above the hearth, a gleaming emblem of the Hewers Union wrought in gold will catch the light—a symbol of shared purpose and unyielding solidarity. Though it will hum with conversation, laughter, and the warmth of kinship, the club will never descend into chaos. Instead, it will remain a place of comfort, dignity, and mutual respect—a living shrine to The Hearth, whose flame inspires fellowship and resilience in equal measure.

The Hearthstone of the Hewers
May the fire burn bright, and the bonds between us burn brighter still.

The Working Hewers Club now stands complete; more than a meeting hall, it has become a place of fellowship, where those who carve the mountain may set aside their tools, warm themselves beside the fire, and strengthen the bonds that unite them. Fashioned directly from the surrounding bedrock, the building appears as though it has always belonged within the caverns. Low, broad, and solidly built, its walls have been carefully hewn from the very stone beneath its foundations before being finished with shimmering golden grout that catches the light of nearby lanterns. The result is a hall that balances practicality with quiet pride, reflecting the craftsmanship of those who built it.

Mounted proudly above the great hearth hangs the golden emblem of the Hewers, catching the firelight and standing as a symbol of shared labour, mutual respect, and enduring solidarity. Though the hall is often filled with conversation and laughter, it remains a place of dignity and purpose, a sanctuary where every Hewer is welcomed as an equal.
