The Muckheape Midden now stands as a fully funded and completed waste management site within Hammerstadt's Zweiburg district, providing a practical solution for the disposal and processing of the city's unwanted refuse.

Built as a series of open pits and drainage channels carved into the ground, the Midden embraces a simple and effective design. Large stone troughs collect waste from the surrounding area before guiding it into deeper settling pits, where it is contained and managed under the careful supervision of the Brown Charter.

A modest stone processing building serves as the heart of the operation, where workers oversee the ongoing filtration and maintenance of the Midden. Their work is neither glamorous nor celebrated, but it remains essential. Through constant attention and careful management, they prevent dangerous build-up, maintain the site's function, and ensure the Midden continues to operate in a steady and reliable rhythm.
