The Hugos Hatchery & Cablecar is a completed mountain infrastructure and breeding facility located on Embermount, connecting Irondelve to a high-altitude geothermal hatchery via a suspended cablecar system.

The cablecar route ascends the steep slopes of Embermount from Irondelve, its rope-wound metal systems producing a constant high creak as the carriage moves along the suspended line. The journey is notably exposed to altitude and wind conditions, with the system gently swaying during transit and momentarily tensioning against the cable. Despite the harsh ascent, the route stabilises at approximately halfway up the mountain before reaching its terminal platform. At the summit station, the cablecar locks into a guided rail platform integrated into the mountainside. This structure is reinforced with heavy timber supports and embedded into a naturally less steep section of Embermount, providing a stable transition point between transport and facility access.

From this platform, entry will lead directly into Hugos Hatchery. The hatchery itself is constructed within a naturally protected high altitude hollow, where environmental isolation provides inherent defence against intrusion. The interior of the hatchery is maintained through geothermal heating drawn from Embermount’s volcanic activity, regulated and stabilised using agate crystal installations that distribute heat evenly throughout nesting chambers. These systems allow for a controlled incubation environment. The facility is intentionally spacious, prioritising function over form. Nesting areas are lined with hay and natural materials, arranged to support a single primary incubation site for an egg.

The site is supported by a small permanent guard presence, positioned within narrow corridor systems designed to favour defensive control of movement through chokepoints. These measures ensure that even small defensive teams can effectively regulate access to the hatchery. Hugos Hatchery & Cablecar therefore functions as a fully operational high-altitude transport and incubation facility, combining secure mountain access with geothermal environmental control for the protection and development of potentially fertile eggs.
