The Bile Wing now stands completed as a dedicated medical extension adjoining the historic halls of Velichor University in Hammerstadt, expanding the university’s long-standing commitment to scholarship into the fields of medicine, surgery, and patient care.

Constructed from aged grey stone with arched windows and weathered masonry, the wing has been built to blend seamlessly into the existing university campus. Its exterior mirrors the traditional architectural identity of Velichor so naturally that the structure appears less like a modern addition and more like a hall that has always belonged amongst the university’s ancient corridors and courtyards.

Within the wing, the interior has been carefully arranged to serve both education and treatment simultaneously. Three professors oversee specialised classrooms dedicated to medical theory, surgical practice, and patient care, providing structured instruction for students pursuing the healing arts. Among these teaching halls stands The Orwain Room, named in honour of Orwain Aer Emrys, serving as a dedicated space for advanced medical learning and disciplined scholarly instruction.

At the centre of the Bile Wing lies the observational medical amphitheatre, designed as both operating theatre and teaching chamber. Here, procedures and treatments are conducted before seated students, allowing future surgeons and physicians to study practical technique, judgement, and patient care directly from experienced practitioners. Patients who consent to observational treatment receive discounted care, reinforcing the Wing’s role as both public service and educational institution.

Overlooking the amphitheatre stands a statue of Orwain Aer Emrys, positioned above the theatre floor in silent watch over both surgeons and students alike. The monument serves as a symbol of discipline, responsibility, and the careful pursuit of healing knowledge, reminding all within the chamber that medicine demands precision as much as compassion.

Though traditional in appearance, the Bile Wing incorporates several modern medical advancements throughout its halls. Improved lighting brightens surgical and treatment spaces, ventilation systems maintain cleaner airflow through operating chambers, and sanitation-focused layouts allow for more efficient and controlled medical practice without compromising the university’s classical atmosphere.

Now fully realised, the Bile Wing stands as both a centre of healing and a place of rigorous learning within Hammerstadt. It extends Velichor University’s mission beyond scholarship alone, ensuring that knowledge is not merely preserved within its walls, but actively used in service to the people who pass beneath them.
