Haven’s International Polo Stadium, known as H.I.P.S., is a proposed grand coliseum designed to host the unparalleled sport of Mounted Polo, where skill, strategy, and the magnificent beasts of Elandra collide in spectacular fashion. This stadium is envisioned as both a cultural landmark and a sporting arena, drawing competitors and spectators from across the nations for a display of elegance, speed, and raw power.
The Field of Beasts, the stadium’s central pitch, will be an enchanted biosphere capable of subtle terrain shifts to ensure fairness between teams mounted on vastly different creatures. Urdrevan war-bears, mollusk-bound knights from The Wonder, and other culturally significant mounts will compete, navigating hazards, uneven surfaces, and magically augmented challenges designed to test coordination, speed, and agility. The field will be maintained by the Crafters Guild Stewards, who will employ Weave rites and enchanted artifacts to keep the playing surface balanced for all participants.
Spectator spaces will accommodate all classes: towering upper galleries for nobles, expansive moss-seated Commons for traveling merchants and citizens. The stadium will include a variety of amenities, from food vendors offering local delicacies such as roasted fire-beetle legs to chilled snail milk cordial, to shaded pavilions for comfort during long tournaments.
Beyond the sport itself, H.I.P.S. will feature the Hall of Champions, a gallery preserving retired mounts, trophies, and statues commemorating legendary feats—moments such as the Great Slime Skid of 342 or the Bear-Back Moonshot of Year 7. Each tournament will serve as a festival of unity, strategy, and spectacle, culminating in the Celestial Cup, held once every decade, said to subtly influence the tides of fate across Elandra. H.I.P.S. is envisioned not merely as a sporting venue but as a symbol of honour, cultural exchange, and the enduring bond between humans and the extraordinary creatures that share their world.
