Haven

From Menhirs Fate Wiki
This is the approved revision of this page, as well as being the most recent.

The location that main events take place in is called Haven. This is not a single location, but a moving area which attaches itself to various parts of the world depending on where the gods think it is needed most. It was created by the gods as a place that their followers could use to organise themselves and fight back against the Corruption.

As a player character, you feel the call of Haven - when it is going to appear somewhere, your character feels an urge to travel there, and knows instinctively what direction it is in and where it is going to appear. They don't automatically get a helpful rift appear to get them there - usually they have to travel in the usual fashion - but they always know in good time to get there.

Haven brings with it a very large shard of the Menhir, which allows for greater scales of Weaving than are available elsewhere, but also has some downsides - mundane animals and the undead have difficulties in the vicinity of so much Wyrd, and flee in terror or become violent if trapped in the area. This explains why the Urdrevan have had to leave their companions at a safe distance and there are no undead servants with the people of Morvalis that attend, even when it is near their Shroud.

One of the other major properties of Haven is that it attracts an unusual number of unusually predictable short-lived Rifts - which allow the player characters to go all over Elandra from this base, sorting out problems far and wide - and allows people from all over Elandra to appear in Haven to seek help for their problems. Whilst the gods keep the corrupted Aspects out of Haven, the followers of the Corruption are not so easy to restrict, so sometimes they will also be in attendance...
