Atz's Statue

A life-sized gold-coloured statue of Atz Corvo has been proposed by the eponymous Atz Corvo. Crafted with trinkets and ‘scrounged materials’, this statue has been approved to be constructed in Hammerplatz Square with similar reverence to the pre-existing statues located there already.

Unlike the long-enduring and historically important statues hewn by master stonemasons, Atz’s statue needs only a suitable plinth, some glue, and a lick of gold paint to be crafted. Whilst the labour costs to construct the statue are significantly lower compared to commissioning a stonemason; the paperwork and administration required for permits to build in the historic Hammerplatz Square amount to a handful of Myths.

A local sculptor by the name Herry Carver has offered their services to assist in depicting Atz’s likeness; their previous works include nothing of note. All other sculptors refused involvement citing various reasons.

Herry Carver is moved by the idea that Atz Corvo wishes to be humbly immortalised in “randomly assorted gubbins”, and has offered to reduce their rates by 1 Myth should Atz secure 100 pledges from citizens across Elandra. These citizens must pledge to contribute suitable materials to the construction effort, in doing so showing their support in honouring Atz’s great deeds.

Surveyors have chosen a suitable spot for Atz’s Statue to be erected within the Hammerplatz Square; central, without disturbing other works of art already within the Square.

The Beer Baron of Hammerstadt has acknowledged the potential controversy of erecting Atz’s Statue, and has wagered that some citizens may be in want to vandalise or remove the statue upon its completion. Indeed, another Thread of Hammerstadt has made clear their fervent distaste for the idea: Konrad von Hammerplatz pledged in writing that he would “give 1000 Legends for this not to be made”. Considering the statue is due to be erected on the doorstep of his city apartments, Konrad will have the perfect view of Atz’s Statue.

The Bank is currently investigating the value of Konrad’s estate and liquid assets.

Atz’s posthumous wishes are for their ashes to be interred within the statue: if the statue stays in place long enough to see Atz’s life through, further permits will be required to place the ashes of the deceased within the Square.
