Horizons Depths
More actions
The Horizon Depths submersible sits proudly on the deck of the Daughter of the Sea, pulleys and ropes taught and rising above to keep the object stable and to take some of the weight off the wooden boards below; though they would survive the strain, better not to warp the wood. It was designed to explore and chart the depths of Portavas’ waters, engineered to descend into crushing abysses.
The detachable weights had been tested rigorously from within and without and the massive anchor chain was deemed essential to avoid uncontrolled descent. Anyone who ventured below was eager and excitable.
Horizons Depths can now serve both scientific and strategic purposes, gathering critical knowledge for navigation, trade, and the potential defence against threats emerging from the deep.
