R.S.P.S.A – Royal Society for the Protection of Squires and Animals

Set on the firmer ground edging the bogs of Valdraeth, the Royal Society for the Protection of Squires and Animals (R.S.P.S.A) is a sanctuary dedicated to the healing and welfare of both animals and humans.

Its timber walls enclose a mess hall, living quarters, and stabling, all carefully arranged to create a sense of community and purpose. The centrepiece of the grounds is a series of pens for therapy cows, allowing them space to roam freely while receiving guided care. Enclosures open directly to the fields, ensuring a seamless transition between pasture and shelter, while the indoor-outdoor spaces permit the animals to remain comfortable even in harsh weather. The fields are already securely fenced as this construction will be erected on the grounds of Eishbhir Farseer’s home.

Though functional, the facility is imbued with thoughtfulness. Every door, window, and corridor has been placed for practicality and ease of movement, ensuring the safety of caretakers and animals alike. The centre is large enough to initially support ten therapy cows, with room for expansion as the program grows. Here, the natural rhythms of the land merge with the care of living creatures, creating an environment where both humans and animals find purpose, solace, and restoration in service to one another.
