Hidden deep within the twisting, hostile embrace of The Hedge, the Gift of the Hedge is a structure lashed together from living thorns and hardened roots. Its outer form is nearly indistinguishable from the wild tangle around it, save for a faint pulse of warmth and the low, earthy hum that surrounds its presence.

Within, the space softens, a chamber of natural hollows and woven alcoves, each holding a carefully tended ‘dragon egg’, roughly two feet tall and glowing faintly in the dark. Only a rare few egg-nurses, stoic, thorn-bitten devotees, know the paths well enough to bring these eggs from the deeper wilds of Valdraeth. Their role is to tend the nests, rotate the eggs to mimic a dragon’s turn, and ward off the creeping things drawn by the heat and magic.

The Hedge may be cruel and wild, but here, in this strangest cradle, the dragons of legend begin their first dreams.
