The Hedge bites all—except the eggs it hides.

Hidden deep within the twisting, hostile embrace of The Hedge, the Gift of the Hedge is a structure lashed together from living thorns and hardened roots. Its outer form is nearly indistinguishable from the wild tangle around it, save for a faint pulse of warmth and the low, earthy hum that surrounds its presence. Within, the space softens—a chamber of natural hollows and woven alcoves, each holding a carefully tended ‘dragon egg’, roughly two feet tall and glowing faintly in the dark. Only a rare few egg-nurses—stoic, thorn-bitten devotees—know the paths well enough to bring these eggs from the deeper wilds of Valdraeth. Their role is to tend the nests, rotate the eggs to mimic a dragon’s turn, and ward off the creeping things drawn by the heat and magic.
